Well, it is official . . .

I have an awesome group of 6th graders. Thank you all for a wonderful start to this new school year. It was refreshing to have everyone so kind and helpful during this first week. I am really excited to get going on all our learning experiences.

This week we have open house on Thursday evening. Many of you attended the information evening prior to school. Please come back and we'll have a discussion about the plan for this year and my expectations.

Hopefully you are all as excited as I am to get to know each other as a learning community. It should be a lot of fun.

WELCOME BACK

Did summer pass extremely quickly for anyone else? I looked at the calendar and it magically had become August 30th. Oh well.

Welcome to South Baker Intermediate School! I am looking forward to an exciting year with all of you and many challenges and adventures before we are through. Some of you will have questions, some will have concerns, some will be excited, and some of you will be a mixture of all those things and more. We have a unique opportunity to be the first 6th grade class of this new configuration. How exciting!

I look forward to getting to know each of you as the special person you are. Together we can create something to be proud of at South.

I love good quotes and stories that help illustrate my philosophies, so here is what Brendan Gill said, "Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious." Let's have fun and learn a lot together!
